Granada is the favourite city for couples who want to have a special romantic time and one of the leading destinations for weekend trips. Here´s our selection of romantic plans for your weekend in Granada.
Marvel at the sunset in front of the Alhambra
Have a walk through the magical narrow streets of Granada and head off to Mirador de San Nicolás at sunset time. This romantic walk could start with a tea and sweets in any of the tea shops in Calle Elvira. On Bill Clinton´s first visit to Spain, he did this exact plan and said “It is the most beautiful sunset I have ever seen in my life.“
Enjoy an authentic Hammam
A Hammam it´s not a City Spa, it´s an Authentic Arab Bath Experience around the Alhambra. The recommended option to enjoy the Hammam is the basic one: free tour of the water springs and steam room. This should cost around 35 EUR and can be booked online.
Get lost in the forests of the Alhambra
When you think of visiting the Alhambra, a lot of people forget about the forests that surround it. Take the chance to walk to the Alhambra through Cuesta de Gomérez and enjoy the trail that lead to it. The forests around the Nasrid monument are full of slopes and you will get to see the bronze Statue of Washington Irving on your way.
Visit Dar Al-Horra Palace
To locate it you will have to go through a maze of narrow streets. This palace was built in the 15th century over the ruins of an antique palace. Its name means “House of the Lady”. Tthere is a wonderful garden and an exhibition inside. At the end of the visit you can access the tower with a superb viewpoint.
Paseo de los Tristes and Zambras
This is another romantic walk not to miss. Start in Palaza Nueva and walk the famous Paseo de los Tristes. The streets are vibrant and it´s flamenco atmosphere make it an opportunity not to miss. In the evening go to one of the Zambras, where traditional flamenco dancing and music is performed in caverns.

All this walking brings an appetite. We recommend you to choose a tapas bar at any time of the day. There are hundreds of places to go as Granada is well known to be a Tapas City. If you are unsure where to go we have a few recommendations.
